Abstract
The study evaluates waste generation from drilling operations, which take place both in land-based zones and in maritime regions. The paper investigates a range of waste management technologies along with methodologies and processes mandatory for every oil field. Specific drilling operation wastes, as well as difficult wastes, are analyzed in this review approach due to production volume or environmental concerns. The study includes real-case analyses, including one conducted by our organization at GPNME (Gazprom Neft Middle East B.V.) oil fields in Kurdistan. The research includes analysis test data of the field impacts located in Kurdistan; the findings highlight the importance of implementing effective waste management practices that not only comply with regulatory standards but also minimize environmental risks. By examining these methodologies, we aim to establish best practices that can be adopted across similar oil fields to enhance sustainability and operational efficiency.
