Abstract

The paper presents three different iterative algorithms for the numerical solution of contact problems. Each algorithm is based on the use of the finite element method. It is assumed that the contact conditions are fulfilled by means of special contact elements. Numerical results for the various contact elements and solution algorithms are then compared by solving 2D elasticity problems.
