Survey on Ant Colony System Algorithm in Flow Shop Scheduling Problem

Abstract

This article provides a literature review for a production scheduling task, the Flow Shop Scheduling. The literature review focuses on a metaheuristic algorithm namely the Ant Colony System. This algorithm is a population-based heuristic. It is inspired by the behavior of ants, which evolved during the search for a path to food. Ants deposit pheromones along their path to provide the given path more attractive to other ants. This article describes the Ant Colony System Algorithm and the search results based on Google Scholar and Elsevier. Then, several publications related to the Ant Colony System production scheduling task are presented.
