Abstract

The paper investigates two metaheuristic algorithms for solving Flow Shop Scheduling. These two algorithms are the Cat Swarm Optimization and the Genetic Algorithm. Both algorithms are metaheuristic algorithms that maintain and improve a population of solutions during iterations. The Cat Swarm Optimization algorithm is inspired by the behavior of cats. The Genetic Algorithm is about reproduction. It includes operators such as crossover, mutation, and selection. In this article, the basic Flow Shop Scheduling task is presented, and then the two metaheuristic algorithms are also described in detail. Then, the search results of the Google Scholar and Elsevier publication databases are presented. After that, the most important articles and the tabular summary of them are presented.
