The rules of liability insurance contracts in Hungary and Slovakia – a comparative legal analysis

The aim of this study is to review and compare the general rules of liability insurance contract in the Civil codes of Hungary and Slovakia. In the course of comparing of the rules, I focus primarily on analyzing the legal provisions, but of course, to emphasize the differences, judicial practice is also processed. In the comparison, I will define the concept of a liability insurance contract, highlighting the conceptual elements that are governed by Hungarian or Slovak law in the same way or in different ways. The second aspect of the comparison concerns the parties of insurance contract, in which I discuss the rules of the insurable interest in liability insurance contract. In the final chapter of the study, I examine the content of the contract by comparing the parties’ key rights and obligations.
