Abstract

The return of mothers with young children to the labor market lies at the intersection of complex social, economic, and psychological factors. This study presents the results of a quantitative questionnaire survey conducted among mothers raising young children. The main objective was to identify the obstacles, dilemmas, and support opportunities that influence women’s reintegration into the labor market, with a special focus on role conflicts and the phenomenon of “maternal wall bias.” Comparing international practices highlights both the strengths and weaknesses of the Hungarian system. The study emphasizes that reintegration is not only an individual but also a structural and societal challenge requiring shared responsibility.
