Abstract

In this article the validation of tool profiles of gothic-arc profile ball nuts by virtual machining presented based on CAD oriented method. The method allows to carry out experimental tests and result analysis without expensive manufacturing machine time. The virtual machining is carried out by the previously modeled work piece and determined tool profile by CAD approach using an integrated engineering system. The differences between the theoretical surface of the work piece and the virtual manufactured surface are analyzed and compared to various interpolating and approximating tool profiles.
