Presenting a development method for forklift-based material handling in the 4th industrial revolution

Abstract

The 4th Industrial Revolution creates new opportunities for efficiency gains in all areas of industry, including material handling systems, and for better utilization of available capacities. Accordingly, this publication discloses a method that enables the development of the widely applied forklift-based material handling systems using industry 4.0 tools, while still being cost effective. We believe that this method can be used in a very wide range of industries, as forklift-based material handling solutions are present in virtually every industry and the relatively low investment cost is a determining factor for most industrial players.
