Abstract

This paper presents about a cooling unit for laboratory measurements of solar cell, which is built up of Peltier modules. This cooling unit is designed/planned and implemented as a part of an sunlight simulator. The sunlight simulator is needed to make repeatable and comparable measurements on a solar cell with variable parameters. The intensity of illumination is controlled by the sunlight simulator, and the temperature of solar cell can be influenced by the Peltier cooling units. The Peltier module also can be tied up in other way to heat the solar cell. In that way, the work of solar cell can be investigated in wide temperature range. Because the overheating of solar cell is resulted in low efficiency and faster ageing, eventually the unit made of Peltier modules was implemented in cooling mode.
