Novel machining procedures appear in addition to the traditionally used technologies with the developments in the production engineering, which can be used to achieve higher productivity or better surface quality. The most widely used procedure for machining external cylindrical surfaces is turning, in which the required surface quality strongly limits the productivity that can be achieved. That is why other procedures with different kinematics or geometric conditions are developed, which can be used to effectively improve the economy of machining. In this paper, a brief review of the more significant variants can be found, which use linear or circular feed.
