Abstract

Abrasive waterjet turning is a non-traditional technology that is spreading today for the machining of hard-to-machine cylindrical parts. One of the biggest difficulties in the process is ensuring the appropriate accuracy, because the material thickness of the removed layer depends on many factors and is difficult to control. In this article, we are looking for a correlation between the material thickness that can be cut by waterjet cutting and the size of the material layer removed by waterjet turning, in order to ensure the required size of the dimensions processed by waterjet turning as much as possible.
