Abstract

Rotational turning offers a solution opportunity to some of the limiting characteristics of traditional turning due to the application of special kinematic and cutting tool. The alteration of the cutting force and surface roughness is studied in this paper., when the feed is increased. The cutting experiments were carried out with a traditional and a helical edged cutting tool. The maximal values of the cutting force components, their specific values, the Arithmetic mean deviation of the assessed profile and the Average peak to valley height of the profile were analysed. It is concluded, that the passive force and the surface roughness can be lowered effectively by the application of circular feed compared to traditional turning.
