Abstract

Based on the experience of the past few years, the study of the convergence property of infinite series, which is an integral part of the curriculum of Analysis I, is often a challenge for first-year undergraduate students in the IT programs of the University of Miskolc. In the fall semester of the academic year 2022/2023, we conducted a comprehensive survey to identify the learning difficulties and problems related to the determination of the convergence property of infinite series. In this paper, we summarize the results of the three-pillar survey and present some learning aids that can contribute to a more effective mastery of the given topic and can, therefore, facilitate the successful completion of the course.
