Investigation of the damage of an alcohol-distillation equipment

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to investigate the damage of an alcohol-distillation equipment during operation. At the equipment, the gas-space and the water-space are enclosed by a stainless steel rectangular flange. During operation, the stainless steel segment became punctured and water began to leak. In the framework of this work we investigated the possible causes of the damage. The investigations and results are reported in this study.
