Abstract

Nowadays it is accepted in the industrial and even in scientific life that the most diversified activity is the analysis of structural integrity of engineering structures. The content of the terminology, fitness for purpose during the whole lifetime, already refers to its complexity. Getting acquainted with the real meaning of the terminology, the specialist can already suspect, that it is not enough to learn the structural integrity as a subject, but it is also necessary to experience it in practice, to see the problem in the aggregate and during this, focus on some factors, and even iterate if it will be necessary. In this paper I will analyse the location and role of structural integrity in education and in research activities due to domestic and international examples.
