Abstract

Flame straightening technology is a process which commonly used in the manufacture of steel structures, including high-strength steel structures. In addition to presenting the most important characteristics of high-strength steels, the paper summarizes the physical characteristics of flammable and oxidation gases used in flame technologies, their technological effects, and the advantages and disadvantages of their application. We introduce the most important technological characteristics, parameters, and the most frequently used tools. Under different conditions (various technological parameters, different devices, plate thicknesses, industrial gases, special cooling conditions, etc.) we study the temperature fields resulting from the technology and the heat cycles at each point of the workpieces. Based on the measured heat cycles, we analyze their potential effect on the microstructure of the material and its mechanical properties.
