The moral and ethical questions of applying artificial intelligence in occupational safety

Abstract

Although software based on artificial intelligence has been around for a long time, it has taken centre stage in recent years as the technology has evolved and is slowly becoming part of our everyday lives. Artificial intelligence is essentially a field that deals with the development of various IT systems. These systems are capable of solving tasks in a way similar to human thinking. Artificial intelligence is currently evolving rapidly and all industries are trying to exploit its potential to increase efficiency.

In our research, we will examine the legislative background to the use of AI, with a particular focus on occupational safety. The use of AI in occupational safety and health raises a number of moral and ethical issues, which we analyse in our work. A questionnaire survey was carried out in three different industries to explore workers' views on the practical application of AI in the field of occupational safety.
