Abstract

The objective of this paper is the determination of the displacements and stresses in an elastic space with a spherical cutting. The thermal stresses are caused by a steady-state temperature field. It is assumed that the temperature of the surface of the spherical cutting is given value and the temperature field and radial normal stress at the infinity vanish. The presented analytical method takes into account the temperature dependence of the Young modulus.
