Abstract

At constant depth of cut and constant spindle speed (cutting speed), the effect of the feed on cutting forces was investigated when face milling of stainless steel. The change in cutting force and specific cutting force showed a significant difference in both size and proportion of force component change at different feed rates. It has also been shown that the use of higher feed rates is also energetically advantageous in stainless steel.
