Abstract

The main objective of the present paper is the stability investigation of shell-stiffened circular plates subjected to a constant radial load in the middle plane of the plate. We shall assume that the deflections due to the load are axisymmetric. It is also assumed that we can apply theory of thin plates and shells. After presenting the field equations of the plate and shell and clarifying the continuity conditions between the two structural elements we shall determine the critical load of the structure. The numerical examples presented prove the applicability of the results.
