Abstract

This paper explores the possible sources of vibration in a strimmer. Within this, the linear vibrational finite element equations of a strimmer line as a taut string are discussed in detail. The vortex detachments of the high-speed strimmer line are examined using the Strouhal number and the vibrational formula. The other vibration sources of the device are analysed by measurements. An optical method is used to determine the revolution per minute. The displacement-time curve is measured with a laser triangulation device, which is analysed by Fast Fourier Transform.
