Abstract

This paper presents an analytical method to solve the static boundary value problem of two-layer composite beams. The connection between the beam components in normal direction is perfect, but the axial displacements may have jump. The axial force takes over with the imperfect connection is proportional to the relative slip bringing up between the layers. The determination of the solution of static problem is based on the fundamental solutions. A linear combination of the fundamental solutions, which are fitted to the given loading and boundary conditions, gives the solution of the considered problem. Three examples illustrate the applications of the presented analytical method.
