Abstract

While investigating the chip removal made by hard turning process not only have to consider the productivity but also the surface layer’s state shaped after the machining. In this paper we investigate the compressive- and tensile residual stresses formed in the surface layer during hard turning with the application numerical simulation. The aim of investigation was to observe what the effects of the modification of the tool rake angle on the type and largeness of the surface residual stress.
