Abstract

The increased customer-orientation of production companies leaded to the growth of complexity of manufacturing and connected logistics processes. To be winners of today’s market situation manufacturing companies try to increase their flexibility to fulfil customer’s demands. The growing number of components leaded to the increase of inventory. To avoid this inventory different supply strategies were worked out and realised. Just-in-sequence supply strategies have been presented by mechatronic assembly and automotive industries in the past ten years. This supply strategy is based on the well known just-in-time production strategy. The purpose of this paper is the analysis of different just-in-sequence strategies. The analysis is based on logistic aspects and tries to find the suitable application areas for the strategies.
