The purpose of this article is to outline, through some examples, the possibilities that laser measurements offer for the study of drilling, milling, and turning. To date, no work has been published that seeks to summarize the measurements for each conventional metal cutting technology separately for classical cutting techniques. It is not a secret aim to present the advantages and disadvantages of laser measurement technology, also taking into account the measurement conditions. It intends to present all this with the applicability of cutting in supervision in mind.
