Connection of web applications in PLC-based home automation

Abstract

Building automation systems have an important role in the building industry today. These systems focus primarily on the automation of devices and equipment to affect indoor conditions. We developed a PLC based demonstration system to examine the basic functions and tasks of home automation. In our work we primarily examined the possibilities of data exchange between a PLC and a web application.
