A significant number of international hydrogen projects have been launched to investigate the hydrogen tolerance of existing networks. According to the results so far of the hydrogen projects involving the international gas distribution networks presented in this article, the tolerance for hydrogen incorporation in the networks varies from country to country, can reach a hydrogen ratio of 20 volumes. Further studies are needed due to different natural gas infrastructure in each country. The aim is to establish a common European position based on the definition of the maximum hydrogen content that can be mixed in the natural gas network.
