Abstract

This study details the FEM analysis of cold forming diamond burnishing process on aluminium alloy. The input parameters are burnishing force, feed rate, speed and the changing of surface roughness is investigated as an output parameter. This lifetime increasing process effectively reduces the roughness, improves shape correctness and also increases the hardness of the sub-surface area. Machining simulation of the turned surface before burnishing is based on the realized , measured values, by using DEFORM-2D software in order to validate the improvement of surface quality with numerical values too.
