Abstract

Torsional vibration problems for internal combustion engines are topical automotive issues. The development of viscous torsional vibration dampers using numerical tools provides a time- and cost-effective solution. The aim of this paper is to review the damping possibilities of vibrations due to mass force changes in the structures and to analyze the viscous torsional vibration damper. In the case of oil used in torsional vibration dampers, it is desired to determine the value of the damping coefficient for a simple viscous torsional vibration damper.
