Abstract

The present study is concerned with investigation of thermal insulation properties of windows. This paper gives theoretical introduction about heat transfer and presents the thermal insulation properties of the windows. In addition, it makes attempt to introduce the production technology of the glass. The aim is to present the mathematical model of the heat transfer phenomenon and an analytical solution of the Fourier-differential equation. The temperature distribution of a window model was determined by numerical simulation with the help of a design program using a finite element method. During this work the problems of numerical solutions were partially revealed as well.
