Abstract

As an architect engineer student, I think it is important to reconsider the state of the buildings and engineering works during their lifetime. It can be the architect’s role to contribute to the renovation of an existing building. During my study I investigated sewage farm of Debrecen, operated by Debrecen’s Waterwork Company, where I investigated the wall of DORRII settling pan. Based on my studies and in situ tests the following conclusions can be drawn: the concrete planned earlier and inspected again with the use of the Eurocode2 and the MSZ standard must not be used nowadays as a structural concrete and furthermore the concrete structure is no more protected against corrosion.
