Abstract

According to the Eurocode 3 standard the column bases are considered „pinned”, „semicontinuous” or „rigid” connection. The design resistance and rotational stiffness of column bases with four anchor bolts should be calculated applying the method by standard. These column bases usually can be considered semi-continuous connections. This paper summarizes the design rules and calculation procedure of semi-continuous column bases.
