The aim of this study is to explore and interpret the characteristics of the Hungarian regional labour markets within the framework of the Three-Dimensional Labour Market Segmentation (3D-LMS) model. The research builds on the recognition that the labour market cannot be described as a homogeneous and unified system, but rather as a multitude of segments formed at the intersections of regions, job families, and job value categories. The model makes it possible to determine equilibrium wages and analyse labour market matching not only at an aggregate level but also in spatial and occupational breakdowns. Based on the findings, the 3D-LMS model contributes not only to a more accurate understanding of labour market processes but also offers direct practical implications. At the governmental level, it supports targeted wage policies and training programmes; for companies, it provides segmented wage benchmarks and flexible workforce strategies; and within the education system, it highlights the need for training pathways aligned with labour market demands. The model therefore offers both a theoretical framework and a decision-support tool for the sustainable development of the Hungarian labour market.
