A virtuális valóság egy olyan technológia, amely lehetővé teszi a felhasználók számára, hogy ’elmerüljenek’ egy mesterséges, ugyanakkor valódinak tűnő, számítógép által generált környezetben. A jelen tanulmányban ennek a technológiának a börtönkörnyezetben való alkalmazását tárgyaljuk, azonosítjuk azokat a felhasználási módokat, amelyek segíthetik a rehabilitációs folyamatot, valamint megvizsgáljuk a virtuális valóság technológia büntetés-végrehajtási alkalmazásának lehetséges előnyeit és hátrányait.
