Abstract

Gear drives are still very common solutions in the field of mechanical drive technology. Due to the increasing prevalence of 3D technologies, it is important to also deal with the creation of CAD models of gears. The publication examines how it is possible to create a model of profile shifted gears by determining the coordinates of the profile points of the involute arc. Using this, we create the machine element in a 3D design system. We examine several options to see how accurately the individual calculations approach the real data, thus evaluating the individual methods. The calculations, if they prove to be adequate, can later form the basis of additional areas of investigation (e.g. finite element).
