Indexing
The Egészségtudományi Közlemények (Journal for Health Sciences), published by the University of Miskolc, is fully indexed in the international scientific community within the Crossref system via unique DOI identifiers. Thanks to the journal's digital platform, its entire content is indexed and made available in the ProQuest global academic database aggregator, as well as on Google Scholar. On a national level, the journal holds a certified MTMT (Hungarian National Scientific Bibliography) registration, and is also indexed and searchable in the Matarka and the REAL-J repositories of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Peer Review Process
Scientific articles published in the journal undergo an anonymous, double-blind peer review process conducted by two independent experts. The average duration of the review process is 4–6 weeks.
During the peer review process:
Anonymity is mutually maintained between reviewers and authors:
- Reviewers are unaware of the identity of the authors,
- Authors receive no information regarding the identity of the reviewers.
Reviewers prepare a written evaluation, which includes:
- A scientific assessment of the manuscript,
- Recommendations for content and formatting improvements,
- An explicit recommendation for acceptance, revision, or rejection.
In the event of conflicting reviewer opinions, the Editorial Board will, if necessary, invite a third reviewer to support the final decision. The ultimate decision regarding the publication of the manuscript is made by the Editorial Board, taking the reviewers' evaluations into full consideration.
Code of Ethics and Publication Guidelines
General Principles
The journal is committed to ensuring high professional and ethical standards in scientific publishing. The Editorial Board, authors, and reviewers are equally obliged to adhere to the core principles of academic integrity, honesty, and transparency. The operations of the journal are fully aligned with international publication ethics guidelines, with particular regard to the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Conflict of Interest
All parties involved (authors, reviewers, and editors) are required to:

Handling Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

If necessary, the Editorial Board will:
- employ the iThenticate plagiarism detection tool,

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The journal acknowledges the increasing use of artificial intelligence tools (e.g., text-generation systems) in scientific research and the publication process. Authors are required to:
- declare if artificial intelligence was utilized during the preparation of the manuscript (e.g., for text generation, editing, or translation),
- ensure that they accept full responsibility for the content of the submitted manuscript, regardless of the tools used,
- verify the accuracy and reliability of any AI-generated content.
An artificial intelligence tool cannot be listed as an author. Reviewers and editors are strictly prohibited from uploading or using the content of a manuscript under review in any artificial intelligence system in a manner that violates confidentiality.
