The Kúria is a legal institution dating back hundreds of years, preceded by the Royal Curia. The events of Hungarian history have brought about changes not only in people's everyday lives, but also in the basic organizations of our legal system, including the operation of the Royal Curia, which was at the top of the Hungarian court system. The court, temporarily suspended during the Hungarian war of independence, was sentenced to more than a decade of suspension. In the restoration of 1861, the Conference of Chief Justice had inalienable merits, which set in motion the long process leading to the 1867 Compromise.
