Historical perspectives and current issues: focus on the agricultural cooperative

Abstract

The world's economies and societies, but also international organisations globally, need to look for solutions, tools and operational mechanisms that can provide proven help to the highly eclectic and difficult situation in key agricultural sectors. In the current situation, the cooperative is a good solution and an effective instrument, because the cooperative form, and more specifically the agricultural cooperatives that characterise the agricultural sector, has been proven and recognised for centuries as a good way of playing a balancing role in a strong crisis situation.
