The Miskolci Jogi Szemle (Miskolc Law Review) is the journal of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Miskolc, which, contrary to its name, is not only a local law journal but also operates as a national journal. Its decades of operation have established its scientific credibility among domestic law journals. It has been listed as a Category A scientific journal on the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' list of accredited journals for more than a decade.
The aim of the journal is to provide a national forum for legal scholars, researchers in law and political science, and university lecturers. The Miskolci Jogi Szemle is open and provides a forum for discussing current issues in state and legal science and for presenting innovative scientific research that differs from the traditional. We believe that scientific research and its publication promote the development of both legal science and legal practice. An effectively functioning legal system enables balanced economic and social development. We do not focus on any particular area or branch of law, but welcome high-quality studies from all areas of legal science.
In addition to Hungarian-language articles, the Review also accepts English-language works. However, we do not accept studies intended for republication, and the journal does not wish to provide a forum for political debates.
Our journal is published twice a year, in July and December. The deadline for submissions is April 15 and October 15. In addition to its regular issues, the journal also publishes special issues.
