The criminal regulation of tools (particularly) dangerous for public safety

Abstract

The tools dangerous for public safety and particularly dangerous for public safety – even though being in the border of several areas of law – have never had such a great relevance in Hungarian law; their regulation was created rather lately. However, since accepting the general regulations on this area in 2003, the legislation seems to gather pace and since then already two proposals have been made on criminalizing these areas - unsuccessfully. The article aims to present the current legislation in the areas of criminal law and misdemeanour law, including the already mentioned not accepted proposals.
