Abstract

When hearing of environmental harm most people think of the smoke belching factory chimneys, polluted rivers and cut down forests. However, are these actually the human conducts that would warrant a criminal procedure? This study aims to describe the practice of criminal procedures that were executed in Borsod-Abauj-Zemplen county between 2009-2018, in order to support criminal justice in solving the problems which occur in actual legal practice, as well as to provide scientifically sound suggestions to be considered by the legislative powers, since it is based on scientifically substantiated.
