Abstract

In this study, in addition to examining the powers of the magister officiorum and the praefectus praetorio, I discuss two issues. First, I would like to highlight the problem of adjudicating cases of legal violations involving postal service supervisors (curiosi). The second problem is the supervision of armouries (fabricae), the workers employed in the factories (fabricenses) and the regional officials facilitating the transport of weapons (provincial governors, administrative assistants, accounting clerks) in cases of legal violations.
