Abstract

The market economy approach to economic policy and restitutionary efforts after the regime change brought about significant shifts in the legal regulation of the subject (cooperatives) and the object (land) of the agricultural sector. Zoltán Novotni, as a professor of private law, was one of the first to engage in the areas of the legal, jurisprudential and doctrinal nature of agricultural law. The present paper examines the role of the agricultural policy, the legislation, and the agricultural law education in Hungary today, based on his work "An Outline of the Development of Hungarian Agricultural Law".
