Abstract

The Hungarian Criminal Code contains a new crime, namely the abuse by establishing family relations. This crime does not cover 'strange marriages' – more precisely, in some cases relationships – in the Mikszáth sense but the complexity of the approach in the book and the need to research the underlying elements apply to our study help us to paint a clearer picture of the phenomenon behind the facts. As confirmed by an EU expert on this issue, legal aid is not enough in these cases, cooperation and proper information are needed.
