The prosecutor’s role in the legal protection of animals

Abstract

In the field of legal protection of animals, many international legal documents have been created and the European Union treats the topic as a priority. All of this has given rise to a system of animal protection tools and sanctions across legal branches in each member state, including Hungary. The study focuses on the role of a special actor, the prosecutor, in the civil law, criminal law and administrative law areas of animal protection.
