This study is analysing an evergreen and recurring problem. It happened that in July 2021 the Government of Hungary decided to establish the so-called Private Capital Fund for Arable Land, which aimed to purchase agricultural land in the Central and Eastern European region, thus creating the legal and economic basis for the international expansion of domestic agricultural enterprises. However, the creation of the 400 000 000 EUR investment fund, which was to be set up to buy land in neighbouring countries, was not warmly welcomed by our northern neighbour, Slovakia.
