Abstract

Compliance is the task of the companies which obliges them to comply with the law and the company's internal rules. Internal rules, often based on „good practices”, are subject to self-regulation of the company. In this respect there are strong tendencies, which move in the direction of juridification. In the USA, this is reflected in the guide „Assessing corporate compliance programmes”. Companies should follow national and international „best practices”, however, „good practices” should not be equated with „best practices”.
